The Wheel of Life is a symbolic representation of Samsara or cyclic existence in Buddhism. The Wheel of life was designed in order to help and guide the ordinary people about the teachings of Buddha, Karma, Six realms of samsara, and three poisons and so on.
The wheel is painted at the entrance wall of monasteries to remind disciples about the core principles and also to give newbies a glimpse into Buddhist tenets. Though supremely resourceful, it can be intimidating at first, due to the sheer amount of detail in its imagery. The need for a conceptual breakdown of Buddhist philosophies using the Wheel of Life arises from the desire to simplify complex concepts, enhance understanding across cultural and linguistic barriers, and make Buddhist teachings applicable and relevant in various contexts, especially for visual learners.
Can an indexical guide be designed to accompany the Wheel of Life in places where it is painted?
