In April 2023, my friends and I, a group of Architects, Permaculturists and Nature Enthusiasts, conducted a series of workshops aiming to teach the principles of permaculture to the kids living in the hostel at our alma mater Tashi Namgyal Academy in Gangtok. We designed exercises around important principles such as observing and accounting for our natural surroundings, inter-dependencies in natural ecosystems, designing gardens, growing our own food, reading maps and floor plans, waste management etc.
